Audition Info:

Performers that only want to be in the ensemble and do not want to have a solo or lead part need only sign up. We are a “no cuts” group. Every performer gets a part. We are planning on two casts (one younger and the other older) if possible. If we have 50 or less cast members we may only do two performances (one for each cast). 60 or more cast members and we will do four performances (two for each cast).

*IF YOU MISS IN PERSON AUDITIONS, we encourage you to submit a video audition with your singing and dancing abilities and other skill sets. State your name, age, and which roles you would like to be considered for, sing a cappella or with a voice off track for 30-60 seconds, then if you can dance please add one minute of your best moves. If you can tumble, tap, do color guard, or have other skills that we could use in the show be sure to include those. Edit everything together in one video and email [email protected] with the YouTube link or mp4 file.
Video Submissions will accepted until September 12, 2026 by 9 pm.

What to Expect At Auditions:

Performers will audition by their sign in number order. Please sign in when you arrive to receive a number at the front desk. Headshots are not needed as will take a picture of you when you receive your number. Singing Auditions for performers that want a lead role or featured solo. Prepare 16 bars (about 30 seconds) of a Broadway or Disney song in the style of the show to sing a cappella. You are welcome to sing from the show. No karaoke tracks and an accompanist will not be available, please plan to sing a cappella.
Dance Auditions – performers will learn a routine and dance in small groups. They are welcome to show us any special skills at this time as well. (Tumbling, tap dance, etc.)

Rehearsals:
Mondays & Wednesdays 6-9 pm, then January 4-14, 2027 weekdays 4-8 pmish. Not every cast member is called to every rehearsal. Cast members under 10 years old are usually done at 8 pm or earlier. See a preliminary rehearsal schedule here soon.

Performances:
Currently scheduled for January 15-17, 2027 at Bonita Center for the Arts

What You Get:
1) Over 100 hours of dance, voice, and acting instruction during rehearsal time with nationally award-winning directors and choreographers ($30,000 value – if the average rate for a babysitter is $15 an hour, then the hours parents can spend doing other things while the kids are at rehearsals is automatically worth $1,500.)
2) A fully staged Broadway style musical – full set and backdrops as well as professional costumes and props are provided for each performer ($30,000 value)
3) Four performances and rehearsals at a professional theater venue ($40,000 value).
4) 15 face microphones for lead and principal performers ($10,000 value) or studio audio recording and editing for the film production.
5) Professional accompaniment tracks ($1,000 value)
6) Scripts and rehearsal tracks for each performer, as well as access to rehearsal videos of every dance rehearsal ($2,000 value)
7) Team building exercises and family hang out nights for cast members
8) Award nominations for individual performers and the entire cast including National Youth Arts and the American Prize competitions
9) Memories of being in an amazing stage show (priceless)
Total value of this show is over $114,500!

Costs & Deadlines:
Please attend the mandatory parent meeting before the auditions to get the full details.
-Each family is required to do 10 volunteer hours during rehearsals and work at least two shows during the show weekend as well as help load all show items into storage after the last show.
-Each family will be required to purchase 20 tickets in addition to the monthly tuition payments and volunteer hours.
-Scholarships and financial aid are available for work trade and by need. Scholarship applications must be turned in to the front desk by the 2nd rehearsal day. Late applications will not be accepted.

Other Costs

•$45 Material Fee per performer (Cast Shirt, Scripts, Rehearsal Videos, Online Resources)

•$35 Yearly Registration Fee per performer (includes digital headshot)

•$65 Media Fee per family (includes all show videos and photos)

•Show tickets $21-$46 each tiered seating

•Cast t-shirts for family and friends $25
•Refundable deposit check when costumes are returned and all show weekend duties are completed (amount is determined by the role of the cast member)
•10 pre-show service hours per family and two show day volunteer duties as well as load out from the theater to the storage unit on Sunday afternoon after the last show are required of each family.
•Each family is required to sell or buy 20 show tickets
•Each family is required to attend two out of the three mandatory parent meetings
•If a family does not complete the volunteer hours required, forgets to enter their hours correctly in the tracking form, or does not sell 20 tickets then a buy out fee of $17 per service hour or unsold ticket will be added to their DSP account after the close of the show. Normal late fees will apply for any non-payment.
•Pre-Show Volunteer Hours Bypass Fee – $170 per family
•Show Volunteer Bypass Fee – $170 per family
•VIP Package $100 (purchase tickets 2 weeks early & access to the TBE Video Vault)
•There will be a $300 re-blocking fee for any principals or leads who decide to quit the show.

Additional Costs:
You will be required to provide your own dance shoes, costume shoes, dance undergarments (including tights, bloomers, tan camisole for girls/bike shorts and socks for boys), stage make-up, face paint, gloves, wigs and hair supplies.

Tickets to the performances cost $21-$46 and are not included in the tuition fee

Annie

Suggested Performer Age: 9-13
Character Gender: Female
Vocal Range: A3–G5
Dance Skills: Intermediate movement; must learn choreography quickly and move confidently while singing
Role Description: A brave, optimistic and street-smart orphan who dreams of finding her parents. Annie carries much of the show and must have excellent stage presence, strong acting instincts, clear diction and the vocal stamina to perform several demanding songs. The performer must be dependable, expressive and comfortable leading a large cast. Tap dancing skills preferred.

Oliver Warbucks

Suggested Performer Age: 16–Adult
Character Gender: Male
Vocal Range: B3–Gb5
Dance Skills: Basic movement
Role Description: A powerful, wealthy businessman who gradually reveals a loving and generous heart. Requires a confident actor with strong stage presence, emotional depth and a commanding voice. Must develop believable chemistry with Annie and Grace.

Miss Hannigan

Suggested Performer Age: 15–Adult
Character Gender: Female
Vocal Range: A3–F5
Dance Skills: Intermediate character movement
Role Description: The bitter and comically cruel matron of the orphanage. This role requires exceptional comic timing, bold character choices, a strong belt or character voice and the confidence to create an exaggerated, larger-than-life personality.

Grace Farrell

Role Description: Warbucks’ poised, intelligent and compassionate secretary. Grace is polished and professional but also warm and maternal toward Annie. Requires a strong singer and actor who can move gracefully and confidently.

Rooster Hannigan

Suggested Performer Age: 13–Adult
Character Gender: Male

Dance Skills: Intermediate to advanced musical-theatre dance
Role Description: Miss Hannigan’s flashy, dishonest brother. Rooster is a charming but dangerous con artist. Requires excellent comic timing, strong acting chemistry with Lily and Miss Hannigan and confident singing and dancing in “Easy Street.”

Lily St. Regis

Role Description: Rooster’s glamorous and not-too-bright partner in crime. Lily should be funny, energetic and physically expressive. Requires strong vocals, character acting and excellent chemistry with Rooster.

Franklin D. Roosevelt

Role Description: The President of the United States and a friend of Warbucks. Requires a confident character actor with authority, warmth and strong comedic instincts.
